Hi, everyone. I am Akie.

Today, I was about to go to work, but the phone rang,

and said that the work was canceled because of the typhoon.

So, I started writing this blog in English because I have plentiful time

In the last class, we focused on “Muscle”.

When do actors use it on a stage?

It is the time when they show off the muscle to audience.

No way!

When we act out a pantomime, we need muscle.

However, I think a certain amount of muscle is required for every stage.

In the last performance, “Leaves”, the stage was rather physical.

During the whole rehearsal,  we did muscle training.

Actors must develop it.

I worked on the pantomime.

Actually, in the whole class, I use only a chair.

First, I sensed it thoroughly.

The texture, material, height, width, and every single detail, I sensed.

It was like they were burnt into my memory like film-photo.

Second. I pantomimed the chair in the air.

It was useful to use the after-image of the chair.

I could just follow it.

However, what is difficult the most was to sustain the image.

After a short while, it got blurry and was disappearing.

Keeping the image was also important issue.

After that, I did it with a partner.

It was also difficult to share the image of it.

And also,  I was moving and pantomime at the same time

It was deadly difficult.

The height and weight tended to change because the point of view was always changing.

I have worked on it roughly for tow hours.

I got very exhausted after the class

Pantomime is one of key issues to acting, and also, my favorite part.

I will polish it further.
